Gabrielle Bradshaw

I first met Gab in 1993 when she was co presenting Hartbeat (BBC television arts programme presented by Tony Hart) when I was asked to do a double page colour feature on her for one of my magazines. As well as taking her headshots for her acting and TV presenting over the years, I also photograph all her artwork. Gab also has a business called Makendoo which enables kids to create colourful masks from the kits that she and her business partner, Katy English, have produced.

Gab’s testimonial:
“I met Rosie on a commercial photo shoot over 30 years ago and have been using her as a photographer ever since. I could say all sorts of wonderful things about her photo sessions, about how she puts people at ease, makes the whole experience enjoyable and uplifting, takes fabulous pictures … or I could just sum it all up in one sentence. Our life long friendship shows how highly I value Rosie as a person and as for her pictures – they speak for themselves.”

I met Ollie through my friend Gabrielle Bradshaw and like Gab we’ve been friends ever since. Although I’ve done several headshot sessions with him, he decided to have a go at hand-modelling and so far we’ve done 2 sessions – some of the results can be seen below. They are good fun but quite tricky to do, as obviously it’s essential that his hands look good, but I also have to make the product look photogenic too!

Ollie’s testimonial:
“Rosie is a fantastic photographer. I’ve had several photo sessions with her and after the most recent photo session I sent a selection of them to my new agent who was also delighted and immediately asked who the photographer was so she could recommend her. Not only are Rosie’s photos great but every session is always friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended!”

Beryl Maile

What can I say about Beryl? An incredible lady with a great talent and a wicked sense of humour. We first met when she came to my studio many years ago to have some publicity shots done of herself, and since then I’ve photographed her again, and also her dogs and her artwork. Sadly Beryl died after a short illness in 2018.

Beryl’s testimonial:
“If you’re looking for a first class photographer I can highly recommend Rosie Still. I’ve visited her studio many times where she’s brilliantly photographed my artwork, and has also made me and my dogs feel very comfortable in front of her camera.”

Emma Sheils - Creator of 2019 calendar in aid of Breast Cancer Care
Emma as Gregg Wallace
For her 'Cancer' calendar, for the month of March, cancer victim Emma Sheils, becomes Master Chef, Gregg Wallace
Emma Sheil's story

Emma at 49 was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s had an operation to treat her nine and a half centimetre tumour and had both chemo and radiotherapy. During that time she lost all her hair (and believe me, Emma had a lot of it!), but decided that as sitting in a corner crying wouldn’t solve anything, she’d take advantage of her ‘new look’ and turn it into something positive, and do something to raise money for breast cancer awareness.  She came up with this crazy idea of producing a calendar with a difference. Each month would have a different famous ‘bald’ character, but with her disguised as each one.

A few weeks later Emma turned up at my studio; her car laden with costumes and props and we set to work. Suddenly the Emma I knew had become Harry Hill, Matt Lucas, Phil Mitchell, Gregg Wallace, Sigourney Weaver, Kojak, etc … she looked amazing. To be honest I had slight doubts as to whether she’d be able to pull it off, and she has big time. In fact people can’t believe that some of the photos in the calendar are her and not the originals. And just for the record, I feel so strongly about what Emma is doing that I didn’t even charge for the photo shoot. And trust me, the photos are fabulous … heh I took them, so what else would you expect!

For the record. Emma is currently in remission and her hair is rapidly growing back.

Since doing the calendar shoot, Emma has written a book, which is available on Amazon …

“When I needed a photographer to take some good quality photos for my charity calendar, I had no hesitation in asking Rosie. She had taken headshots of both of my daughters during their acting and dance years and we had struck up a good friendship. I dressed up as 12 different celebrities for the calendar and we had a fun day laughing and giggling as I dressed as Phil Mitchell and Uncle Fester. The calendar was designed and printed professionally and all profits go to Breast Cancer Care. Rosie gifted both her time and the photos for this cause.”

Kyle Stanger

I met Kyle when he came to me at the age of 13 to have his headshots done for acting, along with his older sister Jade and Dad Rob. Since then I’ve continued each year to do their updates, along with his little sister Amelia, who was born 2 years ago. Although to date I’ve done 6 sessions with Kyle, this is, however, our first hand-modelling session.

Kyle’s testimonial:
“Rosie Still … well where do I start! I really love having my photos taken by her. She makes you feel really comfortable, and always gets the best photos out of you. I would never go to anyone else. Rosie Still is the best photographer ever. She is excellent in every way”

A selection of artwork by art student, Katrina Hardy Saenz
Longer shot of the folk lamp, showing two of the sides - artwork created by Art student, Katrina Hardy Saenz
Katrina Hardy Saenz

Katrina is a very talented young lady, who although is still attending art school, has a very promising future ahead of her, with her varied and sometimes quirky style of art. Although I photographed several items of her artwork, the ones I’ve included are the 4 sides of an acrylic cube lamp that she’s created, featuring a collection of four folk stories from around the world, three Hama Bead murals surrounding the death of American punk singer Wendy O Williams and finally a “Deer” textile (as shown on this page as a link to the gallery shots), which is a protest piece made in aid of deer culling at Greenwich Park.

Katrina’s testimonial:
“If you are looking for beautiful photographs then Rosie is your woman! Being a student it is hard to find a photographer who is willing to give you the quality of shoot you are looking for at a reasonable price. However, having now been through the Rosie Still experience I know this is achievable! Not only is she lovely but she makes a mean cup of  tea.”
